Flathead RAVE campaign is on the road_Victoria CANADA

Thursday, March 25th, 2010 saw over 300 people come out for "An evening of extraordinary images and action" at Alix Goolden hall in Victoria, CANADA.

The iLCP RAVE Photo Exhibit was on display and people were impressed with the beautiful images as they made their way into the event. People also had a chance to enjoy the brand new Flathead Wild chocolate bars from Denman Island Chocolate.

The event was MC'd by Harvey Locke and featured some opening remarks from iLCP Fellow Garth Lenz, a slide show presented by Sarah Cox and an presentation from Dr. Richard Hebda both of which featured numerous Flathead RAVE images. Next up was the Flathead RAVE film, introduced by mountaineering legend and Epicocity Project collaborator, Pat Morrow. Simon Jackson, founder and chair of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition, closed the evening with his inspirational 'Power of One' presentation.

The event was a wonderful success and we are building on the energy from that night to release a 'flood of phone calls for the Flathead Valley' to British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell's office.

Please call the Premier and tell him how you feel about the Flathead!

Things To consider saying:
1. Thank you for making the Flathead off-limits to mining and oil and gas development.
2. Please leave a lasting legacy by agreeing to make the south-eastern one-third of the Flathead a National Park, to complete the missing piece of the Waterton-Glacier World Heritage Site.
3. Please connect the Flathead to other Rocky Mountain parks like Banff with a Wildlife Management Area so grizzlies and wolves can move freely in order to survive as the climate changes.
Then e-mail us so we know you’ve taken action: info@flatheadwild.ca

Thank you to iLCP partner and friend Casey Brennan for this event update!
